A Program Focused on the Child’s Overall Development

Our educational Commitment

At Garderie l’Ange Rumiel, we follow the educational program “Accueillir la petite enfance” from the Ministry of Families, enhanced by the “Gazelle and Potiron” framework.
Essential Values at the Heart of Learning

The Foundations of Our Teaching Approach

At Garderie l’Ange Rumiel, our educational program, Accueillir la petite enfance, is based on the guidelines of the Ministry of Families and places essential values at the heart of learning: respect, autonomy, self-esteem, and creativity. Through educational play, role-playing activities, and daily routines, children develop all areas of growth harmoniously while being gently prepared for school entry.

We also incorporate the Gazelle and Potiron framework, which promotes healthy habits from an early age. Through varied activities, we encourage balanced nutrition, active play, and motor development, while also raising staff awareness of the importance of these practices for the children’s overall well-being.

Democratic Approach

Educational Program

At the daycare, our educational program is inspired by the democratic approach, where each child is recognized as a full citizen, with rights, a voice, and responsibilities. Education is built on mutual respect, collaboration, and active listening.

Core Principles
  • Respect for the child: Each child is welcomed as a whole, with their strengths, interests, pace, and uniqueness.
  • Active participation: Children are invited to take part in decisions that concern them, in an age-appropriate setting, encouraged to express their ideas, make choices, and resolve conflicts with adult guidance.
  • Autonomy and responsibility: Children develop autonomy through initiative-taking and learning responsibility in a safe environment.
  • Dialogue and cooperation: We value respectful interactions between children and adults, emphasizing dialogue, mediation, empathetic listening, and peaceful conflict resolution.
  • Co-construction of knowledge: Educators do not simply transmit knowledge; they guide children in their discoveries, actively involving them in the learning process.

Role of the Educator
In this approach, the adult acts as a caring guide, democratic role model, and facilitator. They create a rich and stimulating environment, offer experiences tailored to children’s interests, and encourage autonomy while ensuring a safe framework. Practical Examples
  • Group meetings (circle time) where children discuss rules or choose shared projects.
  • Daily choices: materials, games, outdoor activities, snacks, etc.
  • Peer mediation: support in resolving conflicts using age-appropriate tools.
  • Participatory educational projects based on children’s ideas and interests.
Respect, Autonomy, Self-Esteem, and Creativity

At the Heart of Our Educational Approach

At Garderie Ange Rumiel, our values guide every action taken by our educational team. They form the foundation for harmonious development. With attentive presence, our educators support children as they discover themselves and the world around them. Every interaction becomes an opportunity to learn, grow in confidence, and express themselves freely in an environment where each child is valued, heard, and encouraged to shine as their authentic self.

Respect

Respect is at the heart of our approach. We teach children to respect others, their environment, and themselves. This learning begins with small everyday actions and grows through caring, positive interactions.

Autonomy

We place great value on autonomy. By offering age-appropriate choices and encouraging children to take initiative, we help them develop confidence and a strong sense of responsibility.

Self-Esteem

Self-esteem is nurtured through positive and caring guidance. Each child is welcomed with attention, their efforts are encouraged, and their successes are celebrated. This helps them build confidence, feel capable, and flourish in an environment that values their strengths and individuality.

Creativity

Creativity is nurtured every day through a variety of engaging and playful activities. Drawing, music, imaginative play, and sensory experiments are all ways we encourage children to express themselves freely and explore their imagination.

Promoting Growth and Fulfillment

Our Educational Goals

At Garderie Ange Rumiel, our educational program is designed to meet the needs of young children across all areas of their development. Our goals focus on creating a stimulating, safe, and inclusive environment where each child can grow at their own pace, supported by caring and attentive educators. Here are the key principles that guide our daily actions:
Meeting Children’s Needs
Ensuring Their Well-Being, Health, and Safety
Promoting Equal Opportunities
Contributing to Their Socialization
Supporting Parents in Their Role
Facilitating the Transition to School
Understanding to Better Support

An Observation-Based Approach

At Garderie Ange Rumiel, observation is at the heart of our educational practice. Every day, our team takes the time to observe children in their play, interactions, and discoveries to better understand their interests, needs, and developmental rhythm. These observations allow us to adjust our approach, offer meaningful and personalized activities, and support each child in their individual journey.

It is by listening to what children express—whether verbally or not—that we can provide caring, respectful, and tailored guidance suited to their unique reality.
Team Spirit, Support, and Guidance

Focusing on Collaboration for the Child’s Well-Being

At Garderie Ange Rumiel, we believe that each child grows more confidently when the adults around them work hand in hand.

We foster a trusting, open, and respectful relationship with every family. Daily exchanges, individual meetings, and our communication tools (reports, photos, messages) help maintain a constant connection between home and the daycare.

This collaboration also helps us better understand each child’s reality and needs while ensuring continuity between the two environments. Whether through daily discussions, sharing ideas, or simply being present during activities, parents play an important role in our daycare. Together, we form a united team committed to the well-being of young children.
